“Can I Get A Bottle Of Christmas Tree Beer Please?”

We wonder if it leaves you with a pine after taste?

A Dutch brewery is using recycled Christmas trees in its winter IPA beer. Lowlander Beer is collecting trees from bars, restaurants and the public. Each batch of their winter IPA contains 600 kg of Christmas tree needles.

The needles are mixed with juniper berries to produce a citrus flavor. The remaining parts of the tree are being used in smoked cheeses and smoked chips. The winter IPA has an alcohol by volume of 5%.
