My daughter has been talking about returning to Calypso Waterpark since she first went last summer. Even in the dead of winter she was still talking about it. The weather forecast was perfect for a return to our favourite water destination, and after trying on her new bathing suit, I decided to spring the plan on her, even though she likely had hoped that we would be returning.

We love Calypso because there is something for children of all ages. As Amelia is now almost six she is more adventurous to try new things, but her wave pool remains one of her favourite spots at Calypso. Kids are brave, she was “riding the waves” on her own, even though as the waves grew larger I would hear the scream, “Dad pick me up!”
After a picnic in the shade, another plus about Calypso, you can bring your own picnic, or choose from their on site restaurants, maybe not for a meal, but a mid afternoon snack, ours was a bubblegum Slushie.
Time flies when you’re at Calypso, for children and parents alike. There’s a great sense, and feeling seeing so many children of all ages smiling, laughing, and the dozens of proud parents and grand parents seeing their young family members go down the slide for the first time, to the youth, and teenagers braving some of the larger attractions I’m sure Amelia will want to try as she gets old.
Thanks Calypso for another great Daddy-Daughter adventure, and “kudos” to your staff. I realize it’s their job, but many that I saw did more than most would do, from bringing people to actual attractions that they were searching for, to putting everyone’s safety first.
We’ll be back, no doubt before the season is over. Never been to Calypso Waterpark? It’s worth it for a full day of fun, and such a quick and easy drive away.
