Anita Pointer: Soul, R&B, and country singer and songwriter who formed The Pointer Sisters with her siblings in 1969. She was born in Oakland, California and she worked as a secretary before pursuing a career in music. She co-wrote the 1970s hit song “Fairytale,” which won a Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group.

 

Capt. Chesley Sullenberger: Famous U.S. Airways pilot and hero who safely landed a passenger jet on the Hudson River. At 16, he learned to fly in an Aeronca 7DC from a private airstrip near his home. He studied at the U.S. Air Force Academy and holds two Master’s degrees. He was ranked #2 in TIME Magazine’s 2009 list of the Top 100 Most Influential Heroes and Icons.

 

Princess Caroline of Monaco: Philanthropist and patron of the arts who became famous as the eldest child of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier. She became the heiress presumptive to the crown of Monaco since her brother, Prince Albert II, had no legitimate children of his own.
