Father Builds Real Life “Field Of Dreams” For His Son

Ohio resident Jason Kidd recently built a baseball field in his backyard for his 5-year-old son. The project was inspired by the hit movie, “Field of Dreams.”

Jason says he initially didn’t take his son’s request to build the field seriously. “Then, a couple days later I was thinking about it, and I went out and did some measuring. Next thing I know, I’m having trees removed and then a hill removed and now there is a baseball field here … you should have seen [my son’s] face light up when they put the clay down and the re-top dressing. I mean, he just lit up. It was great. If it becomes a popular thing, maybe we can do some charity events, a home run derby or a tournament or something like that. But really, it’s just for the kids or even the grown ups to come out and play some ball.”

The project required two years of planning and a $30,000 investment.
