According to Radio-Canada, the flames started shortly after 5 in the afternoon and required the intervention of about 50 firefighters. The fire was controlled in about three hours.
The cause of the blaze and the extent of the damage remains unknown. There were no injuries. Highway 34 was closed for a long period of time as firefighters battled the flames. According to a Facebook post on from The Review, 15 to 17 people normally work at the shop. According to manager, Christian Latreille, staff were able to get most customers’ vehicles out of the shop.
Latreille told a Review journalist, “It’s a tire fire, it’s a total loss.”
