With the price of gas across the area high, compared to about two months ago when fuel was ranging between 82 – 89 cents, motorists are being strategic on their driving habits, and when to fill up, or wait a little longer.
A new study by the Gasbuddy app reveals that Monday is the best day to buy gas because the first day of the week has the lowest average gas prices.
A GasBuddy representative says Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the worst days. “Finally, consumers have reason to be motivated about Monday since it offers the biggest savings on gasoline and little wait, if any, to fill up. As the week progresses and our excitement builds for the weekend, gas prices also tend to rise. The most expensive day to fill up remains Friday when looking at averages. While filling up on a Sunday can save time, it doesn’t save money Our data shows that filling up on a Monday morning each week can collectively save drivers $2.1 billion and avoid the possibility of playing bumper cars at the pumps.”
