The Finale Show Of Parts Unknown Will Air In The Fall

We will get a chance to say goodbye to Anthony by watching the final episodes of his  “Parts Unknown”. According to People, CNN has confirmed that it will air the seven-episode final season, with at least five of the episodes following the traditional style of the show. Of the seven episodes, only one, which was a trip to Kenya was fully complete before Bourdain’s death, therefore this will be the last to include his narration.

Other episodes include trips to New York’s Lower East Side, Big Bend in Texas, the Asturias region of Spain and Indonesia. Instead of narration, directors of those episodes will use audio of Bourdain captured during filming, along with followup interviews with episode subjects to help fill in the gaps.

“Each one will feel slightly different depending on what’s gathered in the field,” CNN’s executive vice president Amy Entelis told the L.A. Times, which first reported the news. “They will have the full presence of Tony because you’ll see him, you’ll hear him, you’ll watch him. That layer of his narration will be missing, but it will be replaced by other voices of people who are in the episodes.”
